Motorists are being urged to remain cautious on the UAE's roads, as forecasters say the foggy and rainy weather will continue to cover the country during the next few days.

While residents have been enjoying and avidly snapping away at the impressive thunderstorms here recently, others are glad to hear the heavy rains will be easing off, none more than motorists who have been subject to waterlogged roads of late. But for holiday-makers hoping to top up their tans, they might be left feeling a little disappointed as the cloud and rain will remain until Thursday at least. On the bright side, however, there's still plenty here to keep them entertained.
On Monday, a forecaster from the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) told Khaleej Times that the weather on Tuesday and Wednesday will remain cloudy to partly cloudy in general, across all parts of the UAE.
This is how Dubai handled the rain
"The clouds will remain and with it we will likely see light to moderate rain, especially over the western parts of the country. The rain will mostly occur during the morning hours," he said. With clouds increasing at different times throughout the day, he added that there will also be a high chance of rainfall over northern areas on Wednesday too, along with moderate to light winds felt across the whole country.
Temperatures are expected to remain stable, with lows of 27°C and highs of 33°C, but humidity will definitely increase, he said.
"As a result of the increasing humidity, we will witness mist and fog, especially during the late night and early morning hours. Motorists should take precautions during these times."

With the relative humidity increasing, he added that the probability of mist formation over some internal and western areas is more likely than in other areas.
For those not quite enjoying the wintry lashings, it is expected to start clearing by Thursday or Friday, although cloud will remain, but in lighter batches.
And for beachgoers, winds over the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will be light to moderate with onshore waves reaching 1-2 feet and offshore waves reaching 2-4 feet.
Reason for the unsteady weather
Why has the weather been so unstable here during the last few days? According to the forecaster, it is because of the convectional air coming from over the sea. "We have seen no let up because this air has come in constant waves. That's why the thunderstorms persisted," a forecaster from the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) told Khaleej Times.
