Om Puri didn't die due to natural causes: Reports

The actor's friend reveals he was intoxicated the night before

Contrary to the earlier reports about legendary actor Om Puri's death caused due to massive cardiac arrest, it has now being revealed that he was intoxicated at the time of his death, according to an India Today report.
The Oshiwara Police handling the investigations also spoke to the actor's driver and producer Khalid Kidwai as they were last seen with the deceased. Kidwai, Om's close friend revealed to the police that the actor had consumed alcohol the night before his death. "Puri sir had consumed alcohol. He also wanted to meet his son Ishaan but it didn't happen. He was emotional during the evening but I don't think there is anything suspicious about his death," Kidwai was quoted saying.
Injury on the head of the dead body raised suspicion about Om Puri due to a fall before his death. Although the initial cause for Om Puri's death was said to be a heart attack, the preliminary postmortem report suggests that he did not die of 'natural causes'.
Interrogations with Om Puri's wife Nandita Puri did not reveal anything that would need further investigation.
Veteran actor Om Puri passed away on Friday morning at the age of 66. The Bollywood industry had come together to express their grief for the loss of this gifted actor.
