Dubai residents woke up to rains in parts of the UAE. Most parts of Dubai and Sharjah received rainfall around 6 am, much to the surprise of the morning joggers.
The National Center of Meteorology & Seismology (NCMS) has forecasted cloudy and hazy day for the emirates with light rains along the coastal and northern areas. There is a possibility for the relative humidity to increase with mist/fog formation in the night over early morning.
NCMS also took on to Twitter to share reports about light rain in the Dubai airport area. It also mentioned about moderate rain over Al Yahar and light showers in Tarif and Al Marfa.
Motorists are warned to drive carefully to avoid accidents on wet, slippery roads. The weather forecaster has been warning the residents about the unstable cloudy weather with blowing dust since the past week. Early this week, there were visibility issues on the roads, leading to minor accidents.
