Shisha allowed after 9pm in Ramadan tents in Dubai

Dubai - The Health and Safety Department is conducting intensive inspections of Ramadan tents and halls.

Dubai Municipality has approved 20 permits for Ramadan tents and halls where smoking of shisha is allowed after 9 pm throughout the month of Ramadan.
Salman confirmed that the Health and Safety Department requirements include providing the descriptive plan that shows the number of persons, so that the area allocated to each person is about 2 square meters.
"The owners of the tents should completely separate the smokers' area from that of non-smokers' or prevent smoking and the provision of shisha until 9 pm. After that smoking and offering shisha is allowed, provided there is no presence of pregnant women and children under the age of 18. The tent management shall have the right to request to show identity cards to verify the age," he added. 
The air conditioning, purification and refreshing of the internal air of the tent must be in accordance with the Federal Law No. 15 of 2009 on Tobacco Control and its Executive Regulations. 
Inspection campaigns on Ramadan tents
Salman stressed that the Health and Safety Department is conducting intensive inspections of Ramadan tents and halls to ensure compliance with the Municipality requirements.
"The most frequent violations include setting up tents without permission from the Municipality, exceeding the number of people allowed in the tent as per the permit, and stopping the ventilation systems in some locations," he said.
Salman said the management of the site is responsible for placing the permit in a place clearly visible, in addition to placing a warning sticker at the entrance to the Ramadan tent or hall, saying that people under the age of 18 years are not allowed entry, and the use of single-use shisha pipe is mandatory as directed by Dubai Municipality, and emergency exits must be in place at all times. 
He advised the visitors to the tents to abide by the conditions that are placed for the public interest and to maintain public health and safety, including keeping away children under 18 years and pregnant women from Ramadan tents during smoking times or in the places allocated to smokers, and using single-use shisha pipe to smoke Argila to reduce health harm to smokers.
Salman said that in the event of the intensity of smoking fumes in the tent, it must be made sure not to overcrowd the tent more than the authorized number, and also ensure the air conditioning system is working properly as also the air refreshing and the expulsion of smoke from the Ramadan tent.
