Authorities in Saudi Arabia have busted a gang attempting to smuggle bottles of alcohol and contraband inside car tyres.

According to reports in Saudi media outlets, the police confiscated three vehicles at the King Fahad Causeway, linking Saudi Arabia to Bahrain, and retrieved around 360 bottles of hard liquor and 105 kg of kola nuts.
According to Saudi website Hasa Today, there were at least vehicles involved in the operation. The first vehicle -- a tutor -- travelled first to survey the area, and was followed by other vehicles containing the contraband, the website said quoting Dhaif Allah Al Otaibi, the general director of customs on King Fahad Causeway.
Another Saudi website, akhbaar24.argaam.com, said the smugglers made three attempts. While the bottles were found in the tyre cavity of the first vehicle, the second vehicle was found smuggling bottles in its fuel tank. Kola nuts were seized from the third vehicle.
