Ashfaq Ahmed's superlative century and a good bowling spell guided Sealine Legends to a 99-run victory against Qazi Eleven in the final of the Falcon Ramadan League 2017 organised by Falcon at the Sharjah Hamriyah ground on Friday.
Invited to bat first, Sealine Legends lost Vinu's wicket quite early, but the man in form Ashfaq Ahmed had no difficulty as he smashed the rival bowlers all over the ground to complete his third century in the tournament before being dismissed for 102 in 42 balls. Apart from Ahmed, Vishnu Sukumaran (56) and Praveen Achuthan (54) scored superb fifties and late fireworks from Gopakumar (30 off 12 balls) powered Sealine Legends to 267 for 5 in 20 overs. For Qazi Eleven, Junaid, Saeed, Aamir, Labeeb and Ayub picked a wicket each.
Chasing 268 for victory, Qazi Eleven lost their wickets at regular interval as they failed to counter the disciplined Sealine bowling attack. Only Rinku Singh (38) and Labeeb (36) offered some resistance as Waqas Ali (three wickets) proved to be their tormentor. Sajjad Malok, Akash Dev and Ashfaq Ahmed claiming two wickets each to bundle out Qazi Eleven for 168 runs in 18.3 overs
Sealine Legends captain Ajmal Masahir and team owner Dev Kumar received the trophy and cash prize of Dh10,000.
