It's on. If you're anything like us, you'd be waiting for Gitex Shopper to start since the day after the last one ended in October. In that case, we don't ned to tell you it's on. From today.  
But in your enthusiasm to catch the first-day-first-show (well, figuratively speaking), don't forget that getting to the venue and parking can be a nightmare, given the fact that it's a gadget-fest out there.  
For the uninitiated, the four-day Gitex Shopper Spring Edition runs at the Dubai World Trade Centre until April 1.  
An impressive line-up of retailers and brands from around the world are some of the attractions at the retail extravaganza. Here's all you need to know about the electronics extravaganza.  

So, what is Gitex?  

Gitex Shopper (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) is a flagship shopping event for IT and communication devices in the region. There are two editions of the show - one in Spring and one in Autumn. It's is an opportunity for the public to get their hands on the latest electronics and gadgets and unbeatable prices. Gitex Shopper attracted 136,425 visitors and Dh149 million in sales.  

When

The four-day event will run from March 29 to April 1. The exhibition will run from 11am to 11pm on all days.  

Where

Gitex Shopper is managed and hosted by the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) which provides over three decades of experience in delivering world-class events in the Middle East.  

Ticket price

The show is open to the public. Entry to Gitex Shopper Spring is priced at Dh25 per person for adults and Dh5 for children. Children below the age of 14 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  
Student groups of 50 and above can avail the tickets at Dh10 per student.

Travel and transport

Metro operations hours: Take the Metro to Dubai World Trade Centre station and avoid the traffic. The operation hours of the Dubai Metro Red Line on March 29 will be from 5.30am to 1am i.e. offering one additional operation hour. On the same day, the Green Line will start operation at 5.50am and continue up to 1.00am, i.e., offering one additional operation hour.  
The service hours of the Red and Green metro lines will be extended one hour on Saturday, April 1 (last day of the exhibition). The metro service on both the Red and Green lines will be normal on Thursday, March 30, and Friday, March 31.

For international travellers, the route also connects the exhibition centre with the Dubai International Airport, along with major stops throughout the city. Metro run every seven minutes to all major business, tourist and residential areas, with options such as Park and Ride, or feeder buses at select stations. Hotels and accommodation
