How to identify if your new Note7 is safe

So Samsung, according to Khaleej Times sources, will have its fresh batch of Galaxy Note7 smartphones available in the UAE from September 25, which means those who own one can queue up to exchange their devices for free.
Now of course, with everything that's happened, you can't blame people if they could be apprehensive. But fear not; Samsung, particularly in Australia, was the first to clue us in on whether the Galaxy Note7 that will be in your possession is from the new shipments.

That's the IMEI sticker on the boxes of the new Note7s. It has a round blue-on-white "S" label, plus a small black square on the lower-right-hand corner just below the zebra codes.
For the uninitiated, an IMEI, or International Mobile Equipment Identity, is a unique number used to identify devices. Aside from the sticker, you can also access it by using one of the oldest secret codes on mobile phones by dialling *#06#.
Alternatively, you can check your Note7 via an online tool from Samsung, in which you just have to enter your IMEI, after which it will be determined if your phone is affected by the battery issue hounding it. However, Samsung took down the page recently, with Android Central saying it might be relaunched in the future. It's probably being prepped up for some update or something, but in any case, the link now redirects to Samsung's support site in your locality.
