In a heartbreaking video showcasing the effects of US president Trump's visa ban, a 5-year-old boy who was detained in a US airport reunites with his mother. The boy had been detained in a US airport for more than four hours despite proof that he was a lawful US citizen.
According to the Huffington Post, a US senator - Chris Van Hollen, identified the boy as a US citizen and took to social media to condemn his detention. In a video made by ABC 7 News, the mother and son can be seen reunited, embracing and kissing each other. Family members surrounded the tandem as they sang "Happy Birthday" to the boy who flew over with a relative to see his mother.
The visa ban that Trump signed has caused confusion and protests all around with legal green card holders being detained in airports across the country despite sufficient proof and documentation of their US citizenship. Trump originally wanted the visa ban to only keep radical terrorists out of the US.
