Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to Delhi's Rashtrapati Bhavan - presidential palace - at a ceremony on Wednesday morning.
At the palace, Sheikh Mohamed's entry was led by mounted troops of the President's Bodyguard, and was marked with a cannon-fire salute. 
Following his entrance, Sheikh Mohamed inspected a formation of troops drawn from India's Armed Forces, and - alongside President Mukherjee and PM Modi - greeted the Indian and Emirati dignitaries in attendance.
Following the welcome at the palace, Sheikh Mohamed visited the Raj Ghat, the memorial dedicated to Indian independence leader Mahatma Gandhi on the banks of the Yamuna river. The black marble platform marks the spot of Gandhi's cremation the day after his assassination on January 31st, 1948.

The visit included the laying of a wreath, followed by a minute of silence and the ceremonial circling of the shrine, as well as the signing of a visitor's book.
The visit ended with Sheikh Mohamed watering two trees at the site, including one planted by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Later in the day, Sheikh Mohamed is expected to meet PM Modi's cabinet.
The UAE delegation includes Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation.
