Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships WTA top seed Angelique Kerber got a bird's eye view of the Dubai Marina on Monday, as she was joined by friends including WTA President Micky Lawler,for Dinner in the Sky.
The world number two was thrilled to experience arguably the world's most unique dining concept, as Dinner in the Sky takes guests 50 metres up, suspended by a crane, to enjoy a meal. The Dinner in the Sky concept was introduced 10 years ago in Belgium and Germany and since then, it's popped up in more than 40 countries around the world.
Kerber begins her quest for her first Dubai Duty Free title on Centre Court at 7pm today, when she will play wild card Mona Barthel.
If Kerber is successful in adding her name to the honour roll of Dubai champions, she will also regain her number one ranking from Serena Williams, a ranking she first achieved in September 2106 and held for twenty weeks.
The WTA event also features 2017 Brisbane and Doha champion Karolina Pliskova, WTA Finals winner Dominika Cibulkova, French Open champion Garbine Muguruza and  2012 Dubai champion Agnieszka Radwanska, and continues until 25th February.
It is followed by the 25th staging of the ATP World Tour event from 27th February until 4th March.
The ATP event features Wimbledon, Olympic and ATP World Tour Finals champion and world number one Andy Murray, Australian Open champion and seven-time Dubai winner Roger Federer, defending Dubai champion Stan Wawrinka, two-time Dubai finalist Tomas Berdych and the entertaining Gael Monfils.
