Best Venue For
30 October 2009 One for the rugby fans Everything is set up for the next big game at Nezesaussi. The voltage is high, the volume is up and the when the match is on, it’s simply blaring. A bright and frenetic area tucked inside the Al Manzil Hotel, you will find a live steak station right in the middle and can eat as much as you cheer. The name sounds irritating — Nezesaussi (short for New Zealand, South Africa and Australia) is a sports entertainment grill and bar has a lovely courtyard outside for smokers and those who need some respite from the noise inside. The decor is innovative, with the rugby ball-shaped bar providing a magnificent centre-point around which people can gather to enjoy a meal and drink whilst watching the latest sporting event on the many TV screens in the bar. The popular fish ‘n’ chips seems to be what people gather here for, though the morbid-sounding monkey gland sauce is also among the favourites. And no, the sauce is not made from monkey glands, it’s just another type of South African barbecue sauce. The food is a mix of South African and Australian themed dishes. Nezesaussi is also family-friendly and the menu, featuring a ‘kick-off’ (starter), a ‘half-time’ (main course) and a ‘full-time’ (dessert), is suitable for children as well as adults.
