Currently lauded as one of the must-visit destinations in the world, Abu Dhabi has become a trending global city. This is thanks to the amazing attractions and facilities the capital city boasts of. Plus, over the last few years there have been a number of announcements of mega attractions that will be opening in the capital, which is sure to make it a global tourism hub. Take a look at some of these world-famous attractions that are going to set up shop in the capital city very soon.
SeaWorld, Yas Island
It was recently announced that the world famous attraction, SeaWorld, would soon be coming to our shores. The theme park is estimated to open by 2022 and will have a number of thrill-rides as well as ocean creatures to look at. Furthermore, the park will also focus on educating visitors about ocean conservation, with a research, animal rescue and rehabilitation centre. It will offer visitors the chance to take part in virtual scientific expeditions and deep-sea dives. Reportedly, the park will be located near Yas Mall, adjacent to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.
Clymb, Yas Island
According to reports, Abu Dhabi will soon be the home to 'Clymb', which is touted to be the world's widest indoor skydiving centre set to open in 2018. The attraction is sure to be a big hit with adventure aficionados! It will house the world's widest flight chamber for skydiving at 9.75 metres, and the tallest indoor climbing wall at 43 metres. The climbing walls offer challenges for beginners, intermediate and expert climbers, as they will have the chance to scale walls of varying difficulties. The attraction will also feature retail shops, restaurants and an area to host parties. It will apparently be linked to the nearby Yas Mall.
Warner Bros, Yas Island
Great news for movie buffs! This allegedly billion dollar indoor theme park will reportedly open in 2018 with 19 rides and attractions. While there are no official announcements about brands that will be a part of the theme park, it is most likely that DC Comics featuring Batman and Superman as well as all time favourite cartoon characters such as Tom and Jerry and Scooby Doo could be a part of it.
Marina Mall Abu Dhabi Expansion
Reportedly, Marina Mall Abu Dhabi will be undergoing a complete renovation next year and will be getting a 120,000 square metres extension. Also, the luxury beach resort Fairmont Hotel will also be joining the properties in the area. The developments will feature the Marina Promenade Abu Dhabi, a beachfront walkway that will include an amphitheatre, restaurants and entertainment options.
Sir Bani Yas Cruise Beach
This beach was recently inaugurated and has a cruise terminal paving the way for the capital to become a leading tourism destination. Reportedly, this unique cruise beach has been developed to meet the demand for a beach destination in the itineraries of the world's leading cruise lines. Further, this nature-conservation desert island adds a unique proposition to an already diverse array of shore excursions awaiting passengers.
Louvre, Saadiyat Island
Saadiyat Island is home to this world-famous art museum, which is most likely to be operational from next year. Once open, visitors will be taken from the beginning of time chronologically through a series of permanent art works alongside those from Musée du Louvre. Masterpieces would include Leonardo da Vinci's La Belle Ferronnière, Vincent Van Gogh's Self-portrait, and more.
Ferrari World
There have been reports doing the rounds that Ferrari World Abu Dhabi will soon be launching three never-done-before rides as part of its third phase of expansion. The theme park, which recently completed the second phase of its expansion plan, aims to boost capacity by 40 per cent. It will offer a total of 38 Ferrari-inspired rides and attractions. The latest round of expansion will most likely be completed by early 2017.
