In a bizarre incident, a bank robber was spotted during a live TV report while he was fleeing after raiding a bank for a second time in as many days.
Reporter Adam Sallet from CBS affiliate KIMT-TV of Mason City, Iowa, was beginning a live report outside a Sterling State Bank branch about a string of robberies in Rochester, Minnesota.
As the anchor tossed to Sallet outside the Rochester bank on Tuesday, a man could be seen sprinting toward the camera.
As it turned out, it was a bank employee running after the suspect, who had just raced past Sallet while he waited to go on the air.
A surprised Sallet, who was most likely running his own camera and audio at the scene, rolls with the punches.
"Oh, that's the robber!. This is live TV, folks! That's the robber (that) just went by, according to the bank employee. So, I got to go here and call 911. I'll talk to you later," Sallet was quoted as saying.
The suspect was apprehended by police later in the day.
According to KIMT, 36-year-old Ryan Liskow had already robbed Sterling State Bank on Monday, and then tried to do it again on Tuesday.
Rochester Police arrived on scene and took statements as well as viewed the video that was captured live.
About an hour later, an officer spotted the suspect's vehicle. Liskow was brought into custody. Sallet said he immediately called 911, then went live again a few minutes later to report on the unique situation.
