DUBAI — Captain Hassan bin Hussein, Head of Highway Section at Deira Traffic Department, said yesterday that 10,364 traffic violations were recorded within his jurisdiction during the month of November.
The department seized 100 vehicles, 3,490 car registrations and 3,959 driving licences during the month, he said.
According to Captain Hassan bin Hussein, vehicle tyres violations topped the list of traffic offences in Deira at 3832. Besides, there were 1,596 lane violations, 1,212 violations for overtaking from the hard shoulder, 479 violations by heavy trucks not complying with lane discipline, 94 by trucks not sticking to timings and using prohibited roads as well 83 violations concerning obstruction to flow of traffic.
Captain Hassan bin Hussein said that 301 violations were recorded for cars failing to maintain vehicles lights and 178 for driving without number plates.
