Dubai Municipality received about 900 complaints during the first quarter of this year, officials said on Tuesday. Eng. Layali Al Mulla, Director of Buildings Department at Dubai Municipality said Department attended within the stipulated time 99.7 per cent of the building violation complaints that reached the civic body from the public. The inspection team carried out 379 field visits and submitted the necessary technical reports on the violations of existing buildings. Eng. Saeed Ahmed Al Falasi, Head of Building Inspection Section and Leader of the Evening Emergency Working Team said the inspection campaigns included 220 existing buildings to monitor the various building violations and to issue report on the necessary control measures on the violations. He said campaigns were added in the evenings to monitor bachelor occupancy and number of families dwelling in one residential unit in all areas of the Emirate of Dubai, which are not monitored during the morning. Eng. Hussein Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality had issued a decision to restructure the Evening Emergency Working Team to prepare plans and implement programs to control construction violations for the cases that cannot be caught during the morning official working hours.
