This new route will operate with three weekly flights
Scheduled to depart at 3 am on December 13, the flight finally took off at 6 pm last evening.
Sources said the aircraft was grounded by the operator because of non-payment of fees by the company. “The operator who had leased the aircraft to Aero Asia grounded the plane due to non-payment and released it only after negotiations at 2pm yesterday,” said the source.
However, Aero Asia officials attributed the delay to a ‘technical glitch’. A spokesperson for Aero Asia said, “There was no solution for a technical problem. The spare part was flown in from Pakistan.”
“The passengers have been taken care of and everything is settled now. We will be flying to Islamabad shortly after which the aircraft will return to Karachi,” he explained.
