Andhra Pradesh bid to promote medical tourism in Middle East

DUBAI — Andhra Pradesh, a southern Indian state, is looking forward to attracting patients from the Middle Eastern countries in its initiative to enhance the medical tourism industry in the state, said a top official from the state.

Dr N. Nageshwar Rao, IAS Joint Secretary of Youth Advancement, Tourism and Culture Deptartment, Government of Andhra Pradesh, stressed on Thursday in a roadshow 'A Glimpse of Andhra Pradesh' at Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers: “Andhra Pradesh possesses tremendous tourism potential in terms of not only its heritage but also as trend-setter in the field of information technology & bio-technology. In the field of healthcare, the state offers world class facilities. Besides, hospitals with modern equipment and facilities, Andhra Pradesh offers alternate medical therapies.”

"The capital city Hyderabad has centres and ashrams providing excellent services in alternative medicine, rejuvenation therapy, and traditional healing systems. There are a large number of associations, ashrams and centers offering courses in Reiki, Pranic Healing, Art of Living and Siddha Samadhi Yoga," said Rao, who is in the city in connection with ATM.
