DUBAI - Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC), in association with Alternative Television (ATV), will soon be introducing Info-theological programme titled Al Noorun Ala Noor, which will be telecast on Asianet Channel during the holy month of Ramadan.
This was announced by Ahmed Shareef, producer of the programme, at a Press conference in Dubai.
The conference was attended by Dr M.K. Muneer, Minister of Public Works, Government of Kerala, Dr Puthoor Rashman, president of KMCC committee, and other eminent personalities of Malayalam community in the UAE.
Addressing the conference, Dr Muneer said that Al Noorun Ala Noor will be a very unique programme that will be introduced to educate the Malayalam community about the virtues of the Holy Month, which true Muslims consider as the most appropriate time to spread goodness.
Mr Shareef said that the programme will be a Ramadan extravaganza and will showcase premier socio-cultural religious movement in the Gulf that enjoys extensive popularity.
The 30 episodes of the programme will be televised on Asianet Channel at 10.15pm throughout the whole month of Ramadan.
The entire programme is compiled and directed by Mr Shareef, who is also an eminent journalist and a creative writer, with support of other scholars.
He added that the programme will cover many topics including 'Narration and visualisation of Islamic and Arabian images with Iftar footages', 'My Ramadan', 'Business, religious and political leaders and Ramadan nostalgia', 'Discussions' and 'Ramadan Quiz' as well as table discussion by Muslim scholars on selected subjects of Islam.
The programme will be introduced in Malayalam, and subtitles will be inserted when an international scholar is hosted in the progrmme.
Mr Shareef added that the programme is aimed at correcting misconceptions about Islam and spreading Islamic teachings among the non-Muslim Malayalees, familiarising them with the virtues of Ramadan and introducing different cultural and tradition aspects of different communities.
