FUJAIRAH - As many as 210 mosques in Fujairah city, Dibba and the adjacent coastal villages have come under a unified call to prayer (adhan), a project launched by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Auqaf (GAIAA) all over the country.
The call to prayer of Al Dhur prayer was made on Tuesday from Omer bin Abdulaziz Mosque, located in Madab area, Fujairah, attended by Shaikh Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Deputy Ruler of Fujairah, and GAIAA Chief Dr. Hamdan Musalam Al Mazrouie.
The director of the authority’s Fujairah branch office, Rashid Obeid Al Abeed said: “The call to prayer has been unified at 210 mosques in Fujairah city, Dibba, and the neighbouring coastal villages in a first phase to be followed, 10 days later, by unifying adhan at 100 more mosques in Massafi, the mountainous villages and remote areas like Al Tawbeen, Thawban, and Al Seiji.”‘
