Dubai — The Dar Al Ber Society (Dabs) will arrange a free Umrah trip for 87 low-income people shortlisted for the religious tour.

The second edition of the project themed ‘Lifetime Umrah’ will be organised by the Zakat and Seasonal Projects Department at the Dabs in collaboration with the ‘Heavens Gates’ live radio programme that is broadcast every Friday on Noor Dubai radio station. Only those who have not performed Haj or Umrah are eligible for the free religious tour. In the last edition of the project, 214 people — 80 in the first batch and 134 in the second — benefitted.

Imran Mohammed Abdullah, board member and Head of Culture and Studies Sector, Dabs, said a number of lectures were held to develop participants’ awareness about Umrah, particularly new Muslims.

“These were delivered in Arabic by Hisham Al Zahrani, Head of the Zakat and Seasonal Projects Department, and in Indian (languages) and Urdu by Reda Al Hassan, a staff preacher at the Activities and Events Department.”

The attendees were educated about the benefits, values and lessons on offer during the religious trip.

Al Zahrani said the Dabs spares no effort to bring happiness to low-income people.
