According to the report, in 2013, 5.3 million tonnes of carbon dioxide savings have taken place since 2006 due to efficiency improvement and reduced power consumption, while water losses have been curbed by 10.4 per cent, which reflects a 75 per cent improvement since 1988. The report also stated that Dewa reduced 3,281 tonnes of nitrous oxide air emissions.
“Dewa is making every effort, guided by the wisdom of our leadership, to protect our environment and save our resources by keeping pace with international changes,” Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dewa, said in his keynote speech.
The report highlights Dewa’s performance through 10 action areas that cover economic development, environmental protection, stakeholders and community in the supply chain; and operations, employees, customers, and other related areas.
