Dubai Municipality to close Jumeirah Park's beach

Due to ongoing development projects at Jumeirah Beach Park, Dubai Municipality has temporarily cancelled the ladies-only day and all other activities on the beach park's beach.

Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al Awadi, Director of the Public Parks and Horticulture Department, said: “The closure of Jumeirah Beach Park's beach is to ensure the smooth running of the water canal project and other developmental work starting fromOctober 12, hence, all beach activities and ladies-only day will be cancelled.”

Jumeirah Park will still receive visitors until the end of December 2014, he added.

Both the park and beach will be reopened by the end of 2016 with a new look and added facilities in line with the latest developments in Dubai, that would, in turn, serve the objectives of Dubai Municipality in achieving the highest standards of entertainment for visitors to public places.
