Four training courses for police officers

ABU DHABI — Major General Salem Obaid Al Shamsi, Director-General of Reformatories and Penitentiaries, yesterday launched four training courses for police officers. The training programme is aimed at honing leadership and administrative skills of officers.

They include Middle Leadership Course, First Leadership Course, Basic Administrative and Financial Affairs Course, and Effective Administration and Interior Ministry Strategy Implementation Course.

The courses were launched in line with the directives of Lt-Gen Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, who wants to equip the officers of the police department with the best capabilities and skills.

The courses were initiated at Etihad Auditorium in Abu Dhabi Police College.

Brigadier Mustafa Shehab Al Hashimi, Director General of the Police College, along with directors, heads of departments, and some Police College officers was present on the occasion. Other senior officers included directors, heads of department and some police college personnel.

The courses are part of the annual training plan 2007, being organised by the Officers Training Institute at Police College in cooperation with the Planning and Development Directorate General at the Ministry of Interior. Some 79 officers of different departments are set to participate in the courses.
