DUBAI — Dubai Criminal Court yesterday continued the fourth hearing of a case against a gang of six Asians — five men and a woman — who had misled an Indian woman, identified as Tomas M., and forced her into prostitution.
The woman who paid money to come to the UAE was told that when she arrived at Dubai International Airport, she would be given work in a ladies salon. But to her dismay, she found that there was no job for her other than prostitution.
The first accused Abubaker, 26, an Indian, Yousuf J., 29, a labourer, Nasir K., 34,
a labourer, and Mohammed D. had taken the woman’s passport and detained her in flat No. 102 at Al Mazmar area and she stayed there for six months.
Later, she was transferred to villa No. 104 in Hor Al Anz which was used for prostitution. The gang forced the woman to practise sex with different men. She was not allowed to leave the premises.
The gang members abused the woman and forced her to get involved in sex with them also.
On March 1, while the gang members were taking the woman to a customer in a vehicle, she managed to escape and was able to get the support of the passer-by after she started shouting.
