Hundreds flock to Khalifa Park

ABU DHABI — Hundreds of nationals and expatriates gathered yesterday at Khalifa Park with their families and children on the occasion of the 36th National Day.

People started flocking to the park since morning with their families and children. The visitors were loaded with foodstuff and entertainment kits and a large number of children were seen waving the national flag.

The train ride was a favourite among children.

Indian expat Suresh Shenoy, who turned up at the park with his family and children, said, “It is good to be celebrating the 36th years of UAE federation with the nationals. This signifies unity and strength of the nation.”

Another expatriate from Jordan, Salim Abdullah, said, “If it is National Day for Emiratis it also for us. That is why, we are enjoying with them.”

Adityakolari, a seventh standard student of Abu Dhabi Indian School said, “It is fun time for me to watch fireworks and it gives me an opportunity to hang out with parents.”
