ABU DHABI — The Khalifa Award for Education announced the winners of its 4th Circle, 2010 - 2011, on Wednesday.
Amal Al Afifi, Secretary-General of the award, told a Press conference that 31 winners would be honoured in a grand ceremony on April 20 at the Emirates Palace under the patronage of Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
“The 2010-2011 edition has witnessed a qualitative leap with the introduction of four new categories at the UAE and Arab World level: Creating knowledge networks, New media and education within the UAE and the Arab World,
Education and the sustainable environment, and Education and community service,” she said, noting that these categories had received overwhelming interest in the educational field.
She added that the fourth edition had also seen five winners from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, and Jordan.
The Award aims to promote the educational field in the UAE and the Arab world through encouraging and motivating creative and outstanding individuals working in the field. —
