The court also ordered the Indian’s deportation and banned him from entering the country again.

According to court records, the man presented the fake passport at the immigration counter on May 7 this year, but the immigration officer had a doubt over the validity of the passport.

The officer referred the man to the investigation unit, where he confessed to having violated the country’s immigration rules for several years.

He admitted that he bought the fake passport for Dh1,000 from a person and pasted his photograph on it.

Investigations revealed that the passport belonged to another Indian.
