“The Union established by the founding fathers late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the founding Rulers of Emirates, have been sustained and cherished by the current Rulers, who believe that the essence of Union, is the strength.” Shaikh Sultan said the UAE has scored several achievements, but the greatest achievements of all are still awaiting, citing the recent Federal National Council (FNC) parliamentary elections in which Emiratis took part.

“It is a new experience that tested the country’s will under the wise leadership of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.” He called on the UAE people to sustain the Union, indicating that there are no rooms to the small entities. “United we stand, divided we fall.It is time for all Emiratis, especially youth whom we believe are dynamic and fuel of the future, to work hard, sincerely and with dedication. All doors are opened before them to take part in pushing forward the wheel of progress in the march of the federation.

Marking the 40^th anniversary is not a just mere day, but it is an immortal day in the history of UAE on which the citizens remember the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and other founding fathers.

He referred to the outstanding UAE achievements in the field of education, health, economy, social and infrastructure amid security and political stability.

“Over the last 40 years, Emirati women scored huge gains through occupying senior posts in the country, and the ratification of many laws on the rights of women.

“The UAE has built the Armed Forces to be the shield of the country, while the police have been assigned to safeguard the security and stability.

“At the Arab level, Shaikh Saud continued, the UAE leadership has devoted the time and energy to achieve reconciliations among the Arab brothers through amicable settlement of differences to achieve the Arab solidarity.”

The National Day, December 2, depicts the will of founding fathers of the UAE Union, who had persevered to create the Union.

Those founding fathers had turned a desert into a green oasis that has become an active member in the international community.

“The late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s leadership was one of the most important pillars the federation is based on, through which he had achieved a miracle named the United Arab Emirates, engraved by will and wisdom.

“The late Shaikh Zayed, from the beginning, had believed with his farsightedness and industrious work, that the federation is our destiny, which achieves our aspirations.

Development in the UAE extended to cover the educational and cultural aspects, and in every nook and corner of the country, it varied from schools, institutes and universities, from where scores of Emirai students have graduated armed with education and knowledge.

“The UAE had scored another victory, while celebrating its 40^th National Day anniversary. The current Federal National Council elections is another political development attained by the UAE under the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan”.

Shaikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain lauded the humanitarian efforts conducted by the UAE worldwide to help the needy and sick.

“The first concerns of the state is to develop its resources and create a decent life in it to make a society of self-reliance, justice and welfare, not only for its citizens, but for whoever lives in the UAE.

Despite the boon of oil the UAE has been bestowed, it tops the list of investors in the fields of renewable energy with the aim of exploring the future and progress. This is viewed as the best way since the leaders realise that even if the sources of energy are replaced, the oil will remain as valuable commodity.

“Today we mark the 40^th National Day anniversary under the theme: “Spirit of Union”. The Union lies in the sentiment of nation as it brings the seven emirates together under the one roof.

The current leadership under the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and the Rulers of Emirates, follow the footsteps of the founding fathers to sustain the Union.

During the four decades, the UAE had been turned into a modern prosperous state, whose citizens enjoy welfare and security. Despite the fluctuations of world economic and financial situations, the UAE achieved unprecedented economic boom that gives the Union its real theme that is felt by the citizens.

With the tempo of economic progress, the UAE has not forgotten the preservation of heritage and norms of the forefathers.
