ABU DHABI — The Ministry of Labour has started receiving applications for licences to open Tas’heel service centers in the city of Abu Dhabi. May 3 has been fixed as the last date for receiving the applications on its website, tasheel-ad@mol.gov.ae, the ministry announced on Monday.
“Arrangements for opening the ‘Tas’heel’ service centres in the capital are in pursuance of the instructions of Saqr Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Labour, who called for continuing the ministry’s 2011-2013 strategy pertaining to providing high quality services with regard to dealers as well as boosting the participation of Emiratis in the private sector,” said Humaid bin Demas Al Suweidi, Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs.
He said: “The ministry has conducted a field study to find the best locations, and applicants may submit applications for selecting the location out of 14 sites the study has covered.”
The MoL, according to him, will commit to impartiality and transparency in granting licenses to the UAE applicants, whether individuals or companies.
A technical team will evaluate the applications as per the set standards and conditions.
“The service centres symbolise the effective partnership between the MoL and the private sector,” he said. Tas’heel centres which are yet to be licensed in Abu Dhabi, will create job opportunities to 300 Emirati men and women, he added. The centres have employed 600 Emiratis according to employment contracts with benefits and incentives that encourage them to discharge their duties in the best required manner, he said.
“The Ministry has set a target to have 50 centres countrywide by the end of 2013, and the number of UAE citizens working with the centres would reach 1,200,” he added. Director of the Service Centres Department at the MoL, Saif Al Suweidi said the number of Emiratis recruited should increase by 10 per cent every year. Localisation of the post of the director and deputy director of the centre and commitment to hire a supervisor are among the rules and conditions for the functioning of the facility, he added.
