Movie magic land is here in Dubai

Dubai - Guests will also have their choice of nine movie-themed family restaurants plus a wide range of quick dining kiosks located throughout the park

The din of construction and the jarring sound of heavy equipment moving, with a mishmash of workers frantically moving around, all create a discordant sound. But there is also poetry in their movement as something beautiful and graceful is being fashioned out, i.e. motiongate Dubai, the flagship theme park of Dubai Parks and Resorts, set to open its gates to the public on October 31.
Work is now on its final leg. The project being built at a cost of Dh13.2 billion, and spread across 30.6 million square feet in Dubai's Jebel Ali, is strategically located on Shaikh Zayed Road, midway between Dubai International Airport (63km away) and Abu Dhabi International Airport (68km away). The park will be operated by Parques Reunidos Servicios Centrales, one of the leading theme park operators in the world runnning 56 parks in 12 European and American countries. motiongate Dubai and its sister project, Bollywood Parks Dubai, are their first in the Middle East
"With five uniquely themed zones, motiongate Dubai will feature 27 key rides and attractions, plus a full programme of live entertainment," John Hallenbeck, motiongate Dubai general manager, told Khaleej Times. "It will be the largest Hollywood-inspired theme park in the Middle East that unites three legendary film studios for the first time in a theme park environment - Sony Pictures Studios including the Smurfs, DreamWorks Animation and Lionsgate," he added.
motiongate Dubai will have five zones: Studio Central, the park's entry boulevard designed to replicate working movie sets in New York City; Sony Pictures Studios, inspired by popular live action and animated hits; DreamWorks, entirely indoors and inspired by popular hits How to Train your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar, and Shrek; Lionsgate, based on The Hunger Games franchise, plus a 1,000-seater theatre to host a dance stage show based on the Step-Up movies; and Smurfs Village.
Hallenbeck said motiongate Dubai is a year-round destination with 21 of its key attractions completely indoors, plus dedicated cooling areas and landscaping which provide shade throughout the park. It's surely setting our high anticipation in motion.
