DUBAI — His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, emphasised that the provision of adequate housing and decent life comes at the top of the government’s priorities.
He underscored that the Shaikh Zayed Housing Programme, which bears the name of the UAE’s founder the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan, “reminds us that a citizen was and still is the core of the leadership’s attention since the inception of the union.”
This came during his approval of the new regulations for the Shaikh Zayed Housing Programme, which included a number of amendments to the main components of the programme and its objectives to take into account humanitarian cases and family circumstances of the beneficiaries of all categories.
The decision to adopt the regulations also comes as part of the federal government’s efforts to provide UAE citizens with a dignified standard of living in a healthy and sustainable environment. The new list includes exceptions in terms of eligibility for certain categories of citizens mainly the disabled, orphans, the elderly and other categories.
