FUJAIRAH — Heavy rains continuing for the past 15 hours have caused flooding of some areas of Fujairah and the dams in the emirate are full.
Roads leading to Wadi Sahm, Um Doak and Al Gzmiri and the hospital roundabout remained inundated. The municipality has been trying to drain water from the roads.
Farfar and Itqan schools remained closed as they were cut off due to overnight rains causing extensive flooding.
In the Gadfaa area, water entered several houses that were lower than the road level.
The valleys of Ham (located at the Fujairah city entrance), Siji, Mirbid, Heil, Saham and Safd were also among areas heavily inundated.
Khorfan and Kalba areas witnessed heavy rainfall, specially in Hawadi Shai, Sidra, Nakhala and the industrial area.
The sky has remained cloudy during the day with rains forecast for many more hours.
