The Rio Olympics has so far witnessed some spectacular performances from Usain Bolt, Ian Thorpe and Simone Biles. After 14 days, the United States tops the medal table with 35 gold, followed by Great Britain with 22 gold and China 20.

Sergiu Toma gave the UAE their second medal in Olympic history when he pinned down Matteo Marconcini of Italy in a bronze medal match of the men's judo under 81kg category in the Rio 2016 Olympic on August 9, 2016.
