RTA bus drivers’ training for better road discipline

DUBAI — A major traffic safety campaign for bus drivers has concluded at the Drivers Training Centre of the Public Transportation Agency of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

Called ‘Drive for Results’, the campaign, which lasted 11 days, was attended by 2100 bus drivers belonging to the Public Buses Department. It was conducted under the supervision of RogenSi, a prestigious British global company.

Engineer Essa Abdurrahman Al Dossari, CEO of the Public Transport Agency, said that the campaign was a great opportunity for drivers to gain new skills and learn more about safe driving by following traffic rules.

The training will certainly make them safe drivers leading to better road discipline in accordance with the RTA vision, he said. “The safety system that we recently unveiled represents an educational and training initiative for optimally qualifying the public bus drivers. That initiative would also support the growth of public transit sector in Dubai,” he added.
