Saudi firefighters bring fire next to Jeddah train station under control

Jeddah - No casualties were reported in the blaze, which erupted in portacabins at the Haramian high-speed train station.

The Civil Defence in Makkah Region in Saudi Arabia have brought a fire under control which erupted in Jeddah's Al Sulaymaniyah neighbourhood.
The blaze started on Thursday evening in a number of portacabins in an area close to the Haramian high-speed train station in Jeddah.
No casualties were reported, according to the Saudi Gazette.
Col. Muhammad Al Qarni, the spokesman of the Civil Defence in Makkah region, said that firefighters rushed to the station after they had received information about the fire at 7.27pm local time.
The spokesman said the fire originated from the makeshift cabins being used as administrative offices, covering an area of 20x60 metres in the courtyard. 
According to the Saudi Gazette, the renovation of the station, which was badly damaged due to a massive fire on September 29, 2019, began earlier this week. The station had been out of operation after the fire.
The Haramain train service resumed operation last December after a hiatus of two and a half months following the fire.
