The Saudi Shura Council approved on Wednesday a new residency permit the 'Distinguished Iqama' which gives holders of this permit special privileges.
People will be able to get a permanent or temporary residency visa giving holders a number of advantages, including obtaining visit visa for relatives, recruiting domestic workers, owning properties and means of transport, Saudi Gazette reported.
Other benefits include the freedom to enter and leave the country anytime for business. The new residency visa can be issued for one year or for an unlimited period.
Eligible residents should be over 21 and have a valid passport, adequate financial resources, no criminal records and medical reports proving they don't suffer from contagious diseases.
