It has been a year to the day since the tragic loss of Shaikh Rashid, the eldest son of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The older brother of Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai passed away at just 34 years of age. His younger brother has now paid him a fitting tribute on his Instagram handle. From a look at Shaikh Hamdan's social media profiles there is no doubt that the two brother were extremely close and shared a deep bond. He has in the past shared a touching poem in tribute of his late brother titled"My Brother: The Word". Now, the Crown prince has shared a video collage of pictures of their youth together from being pictured in school uniforms to horse riding together all memories of their time. At the end of the video Shaikh Hamdan shared a prayer for souls who have departed to paradise in Arabic.
"A man can experience moments in his life which can overwhelm him with grief and affect his spirit deeply. I came across such difficult moments when I saw Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; and his brother Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; placing the body of their elder brother Shaikh Rashid in the grave at Umm Hurair cemetery on Saturday evening," wrote Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi last year, for online Arabic website 24.ae.
