Shaikha Shaza Al Mualla, Director of Public Health at the municipality, said it was decided to open the clinic six days a week to better serve clients and patients.

“We noticed huge crowds at the clinic when it was open for five days a week and many people had to be turned away after working hours. That is why we have decided to open the clinic on Saturdays,” Al Mualla explained.

She said government departments work only for five days a week, but the clinic could not handle the volume of clients.

The working hours on weekdays would be from 7.30am to 9pm, while on Saturdays it will be from 7.30am to 2.30pm.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, Al Mualla said the services at the clinic have improved, as it has introduced advanced equipment and well-trained staff for better services that can cope with Sharjah’s health programme. The staff at the clinic are making great efforts to provide the best possible services, she said.

“The clinic provides blood test services for medical fitness certificates at affordable prices. Lab results can be obtained within six hours, while the urgent ones are provided within two hours.”

The clinic also conducts periodical free medical checkups for certain categories of workers like workers in the food industry and salon employees.
