ABU DHABI — A new skill development training programme for national doctors and health professionals with the title 'Creativity & Leadership in Medicine' was announced here yesterday.
The national project for health professional skill development is being undertaken by cardiac surgeon Dr Adel Al Shamery, who is also the consultant chairman of the project, and Dr Wael Al Mahameed, chairman of UAE Resuscitation Council, in cooperation with the Zayed University.
Announcing the launch of the training programme at a Press conference at the Zayed University, Dr Adel said that it includes 300 doctors attending monthly training workshops and seminars throughout the year. "The project is considered first of its kind in the Middle East and offers specialised programmes to promote the skills of medical staff in the UAE in the fields of emergency, trauma, heart resuscitation, surgery and labour."
"The training will be offered based on an internationally approved unified syllabus, that relies on latest technology of stimulator system and virtual reality technology introduced in cooperation with the most outstanding universities and international specialised training centres from UK, US and Canada," said Dr Adel.
According to him, the project aims to achieve high standard of medical professional skills in the UAE, universal international accreditation and mandatory training for health professionals in trauma and resuscitation fields, applying state-of-the-art technology and developing UAE local chapter and faculty worldwide.
