The Pakistan Change Initiative (PCI), Dubai, a non-profit group, held its first annual women’s event on Sunday to celebrate International Women’s Day by hosting a panel of five highly-acclaimed women from Pakistan.
The women spoke about theirrise to success, leadership challenges as women in a male-dominated society and on acting as role models to future generations, said organisers.
The panel members who feature in the “100 Business Leaders of Pakistan” list included Maleeha Lodhi, former ambassador to the US; Amber Saigol, chairwoman of Dawn Media Group; Nasreen Kasuri, founder of the BeaconHouse Group, one of the largest private school networks in the world; and renowned world artist based in New York, Qinza Najm. Sidra Iqbal, youth icon of Pakistan and anchor for one of the most celebrated TV shows was also present. Sidra was recently honoured with the Great Women Achievement Award 2014.
