Two face murder charges

TWO PAKISTANI workers were produced in the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance yesterday on charges of attempting to murder a compatriot salesman, N.M., by attacking him with a hammer.

The motive of the duo, identified as K.A. and M.M., was to steal N.M.'s money, mobile phone, credit cards and money from the office where he worked in Riffa area.

However, N.M. survived the attack after the duo mistook him for dead when he fell unconscious.

The 26-year-old victim N.M. said around midday on July 29 last year, he was alone in the shipment and clearance office, busy typing some invoices. "Suddenly, three intruders attacked me with a hammer. I fainted and regained consciousness after about 20 minutes. There was blood all around me as my head was bleeding," N.M. said.

After regaining consciousness, he discovered that his wallet and mobile phone were missing and the office safe broken open and money stolen.

The case will be heard again on August 3.
