However, the 11 crew members were reportedly rescued by Iranian officials. The vessel was carrying a cargo of dates.

Hussein Mahazar, a UAE national and owner of the vessel, told Khaleej Times, "The vessel was grounded because of the Shamal. The vessel left Iraq on Friday with the cargo. The Iranian Coast Guard rescued the crew and they all are in the Linga port."

"Now Iranian officials are trying to move the vessel out. I hope they would manage to do it," he added.

Meanwhile, according to reports from Iran, two Iranian merchant vessels that left Dubai with cargo sank in Arabian Gulf on Sunday night because of a storm that hit the sea over the past 48 hours. However, no casualty was reported.
