A courageous cop turned out to be a saviour for 400 schoolchildren. Head constable Abhishek Patel from Sagar Police in India's Madhya Pradesh carried a 10-kg bomb on his shoulder and ran as fast as he could for a distance of 1km saving students of a school in Chitora village. The bomb was found on the premise of the school. The footage - spanning 12 seconds - has gone viral on social media. The policeman has won accolades for his bold act. Police reportedly got an anonymous call informing them about the presence of an explosive in the school. They swung into action and reached the spot, a report said. Police asked teachers to close down the school after the bomb was found. It was at this time that Patel picked up the bomb and started sprinting with it. Patel later said, "Had the bomb exploded it would have caused damage in a 500-meter area. I was afraid that the bomb may explode so I took it away from the populated area." IG Sagar Saxena was reported as saying that the police are investigating to find out who planted the bomb. Lauding Patel's bravado, the IG announced a reward for his exceptional courage, according to a report in India Today.
