It was an emotional reunion for a Syrian father and son who had been separated for over six years.

According to a video posted by Ajman Police on their Instagram account, His Highness Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, upon hearing of the father's plight, issued a visa to the son.

The son was then summoned to the palace as soon he reached Ajman, where he met his father.

The video also shows an emotional Shaikh Humaid after the reunion.

Meanwhile, in line with the Year of Giving, UAE businessman Khalaf Al Habtoor offered the Syrian a car of his choice from the Habtoor showroom.
