The accused had used the card at the Marco Polo Hotel here after changing the name and the signature of the card owner.
Saadia, who stayed in the hotel for 45 days, had used the fake card to pay for room tariff, and for her food and other expenses at the hotel. She ran up an amount of Dh20, 000 during those 45 days. The hotel discovered that the card was a fake when they called up the bank. Brought before the General Prosecution, Sadia pleaded not guilty and said that the cardholder's brother had done the forgery on the card before giving it to her.
