Jeroen Barwegen

Dubai – As part of its bold strategy to further grow its brands in the Middle East, General Motors on Sunday announced the appointment of Jeroen Barwegen as its new Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Chevrolet and GMC.

Barwegen's appointment to the newly created role is part of GM Middle East’s strategy to change the way it focuses on its brands. The addition compliments the company’s recent selection of ex-Audi Sales Director, Felix Weller to be its Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Cadillac.

“Chevrolet and GMC are completely different beasts to Cadillac. And as such, they deserve strong leadership and tailored approaches to maximize their impact in the region,” says Maurice Williams, GM Middle East’s President and Managing Director.

“Jeroen’s proven track record and leadership experience in GM makes him a valuable asset to our company,” said Williams.

Barwegen will be responsible for leading and implementing Chevrolet and GMC specific sales and marketing strategies across GM’s 10 markets in the Middle East.

Tending to such a diverse customer base is something that the Dutch national is well equipped to handle.

“As it was with my role in Budapest, there are many different markets, different cultures and different preferences to accommodate. We will carefully evaluate and see where the undiscovered opportunities lay,” Barwegen said.

“Of course we will continue to put our customers at the center of everything we do; reaching them through the avenues they are familiar with and providing them with the best in products and service,” he added.

“It’s an exciting time for Chevrolet and GMC in this region. I look forward to being able to contribute to their bright futures here,” he said.
