"The Dubai Quality Award was launched to benchmark the level of business excellence in Dubai and serves as an authenticated standard against which companies can measure their own performance," said Essa Kazim, Co-ordinator General of DQA and Director General Dubai Financial Market speaking at the event. "It is due to the continuous and dedicated effort of the assessors that the standards remain uniformly high year on year, and enable companies to raise the bar of quality each year," he added.

The DQA secretariat trains over 50 new assessors each year, in addition to offering a refresher course for senior assessors. Over 500 assessors have been trained since the inception of the Dubai Quality Award.

"The reputation of the Dubai Quality Award rests on the strengths and commitment of its assessors," said Dr. Lway Nackasha, Advisor, Quality and Excellence at the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED). "It is the assessors who not only evaluate the applications on the basis of stringent criteria but also consistently convey the message of excellence to their associates and to the companies they evaluate," he added.
