Defence manufacturing backbone of 'Make in India'

Dubai - Defence manufacturing is backbone of 'Make in India', India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at India-UK CEOs Forum held at 10 Downing Street on his recent three-day visit to United Kingdom.

Modi who attended the forum with his counterpart David Cameron, Prime Minister of Britain, said: "India-UK are economically made for each other, this relationship has to be driven by private sector CEO's. We want to develop our Railway stations in Public Private Partnership."
He further said: "People from UK and India are easily compatible with each other, this in itself is a big advantage. Both have political will to take our economic relationship forward."
He said: "My focus is on skill development. India is planning to supply manpower for the rest of world."
Bhartiarti Enterprises chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal, Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry, Lulu Group chairman Yusuff Ali MA, Tata Consultancy Services CEO and managing director N Chandrasekaran and Bharat Forge chairman Baba Kalyani, were the prominents members of the Indian side where as the UK side was represented by Standard Chartered Bank chairman Sir John Peace, Vodafone CEO Vitorioa Colao, BP chief executive Bob Dudley, HSBC Chairman Douglas Flint, Rolls Royce CEO Warren East, among others.
"Both have political will to take our economic relationship forward," said Cameron.
