Abu Dhabi based retailer LuLu launched its first full-fledged hypermarket at Ghayathi in Al Dhafrah region of Abu Dhabi, increasing its total store count to 189 globally.
Situated inside the Ghayathi Mall, in a retail space of 56,000 square feet, the store was inaugurated by Rashed Suwaid Qarran Almansoori, acting executive director of Area Services - Ghayathi City Muncipality in the presence of Ashraf Ali M.A. executive director of LuLu Group. In keeping with strict social distancing norms, many government officials and LuLu management led by Yusuff Ali M.A., chairman and managing director of LuLu Group, participated in the inauguration ceremony, virtually.
"The challenges of Covid-19 are there, but I have full faith and confidence in the visionary leadership of this great country. It is the duty of all business organisations to continue their expansion plans and growth activities. This will help the economy recover faster, in order for us to get back to our normal life sooner," said Yusuff Ali M.A.
"We are proud to be a part of UAE's overall development and will continue to support sustainable development strategies. Due to the visionary leadership, there was no food shortage and all food stuff were easily available at affordable prices during this global health crisis. Thanks to the leadership," added Yusuffali.
Set within the vicinity of Al Ghayathi Housing Project, the new hypermarket is home to a wide variety of globally sourced products for food, fashion, and lifestyle, such as grocery essentials, fresh food, health and beauty variety, household needs, garments, footwear, electronics, home appliances, and much more. It is located near other public establishments like Al Ghayathi New Community Hospital and Adnoc School.
"It has always been our policy to make LuLu brand easily accessible to shoppers in suburbs and outskirt areas, so they do not need to drive a long distance. From the first Express store that we opened in 2012 to the new hypermarket today, being part of the extensive growth of Abu Dhabi's western region is such a humbling achievement for me and the rest of my team. We are fully committed to expand further," said Yusuff Ali M.A.
As part of its massive expansion plans, 190th Hypermarket of the group was inaugurated in Cairo by Egyptian Minister of Supply & Internal Trade Dr Ali Moselhi along with Deputy Minister Dr Ibrahim Ashmawy and Major General Khaled Abdel Aal, Governor of Cairo in the virtual presence of Yusuff Ali MA. Following this, Indonesian Capital Jakarta will see group's 191st Hypermarekt when it's going to be opned this Wednesday at Sentul City.
In the times of Covid-19 and lockdown, LuLu has played a very crucial role and ensured uninterrupted supply of food and non-food products while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, health and safety of both its customers and employees. - business@khaleejtimes.com
